We're pleased to tell you our first single for 2021 will be released May 28th! We've been secretly toiling away and finishing our next full length album (to be released later this year) and are kicking off the summer with the leading single "I Am". A solid slice of vintage Detroit!

Since our last release, things have gotten a bit crazy as we signed a deal with UK based label LRK Records. They'll be releasing "I Am" on 7" vinyl (after our digital release) and following up with a big surprise later this year. Let's say we're just getting it all spinning again, and there's more to follow...on vinyl no less!

We wrote "I Am" last year and have been waiting for the right time to release. The recording came together very quickly with drummer/producer Max Bauhof supplying the West Grand Blvd rhythm. The addition of Johnny Evans and Kenny Robinson on horns, Jim Alfredson on Hammond B3, and Van Dyke Brown on bass pushes the song right into the Golden Era of Detroit Soul.

Of course, we have the digital release available right here in our store. If you're interested in VINYL head over to where you'll be able to preorder soon. Those of you who like your Laura Rain streaming can FOLLOW us on Spotify, Apple Music etc just make sure you stay tuned here for special treatment from US!

Speaking of special treatment...last month Laura and I were fortunate to win THREE Detroit Music Awards, "Outstanding Urban Songwriters", "Outstanding Urban Vocalist" and "Outstanding Blues Recording" for our 2020 single "Different State of Mind". Wow!! Talk about honored! Thanks to all our friends, fans, supporters and Detroit music family for taking note. we appreciate you!

Last but not least, we are indeed getting back to performing live. Look for us on tour this summer in Michigan, Ohio, Iowa, Illinois, and Nebraska. We'll be peppering in a couple choice Detroit dates as well. Can't wait to get back on that road!! Dates will be announced here as we confirm. Thanks!

Love to you! - Laura and George
